Although there is nothing wrong about using additives, purists think that this technique is an act of cheating the customers. According to the news, these flavorings are seldom included in the menu that is why customers are completely unaware that what the restaurants serve them are half-fake cuisines.
The flavorings come in various forms - powder and liquid. They maybe injected in meat or added in the sauce. They maybe sprinkled on top of the dish or mixed in the appetizer. These secret ingredients are used to improve the flavors of the dishes, thus making them more sumptuous.
